PAPYRUS for Macintosh
Download PAPYRUS Components
Once you have downloaded any of the following files, you will have to de-BinHex them with a utility such as StuffIt Expander (see below). Then double-click the resulting whatever.sea icons to decompress them. Note: recent versions of the major Web browsers will usually handle both of these steps for you automatically.

Online Help / Papyrus Manuals in HTML Format
These files comprise PAPYRUS's online help. In fact, they represent the entire PAPYRUS documentation, in a form you can view with your usual Web browser.
You must place the Papyrus Help folder (or an alias thereto) in the same folder as the Papyrus application.
In the United Kingdom, this should download more quickly:

If you do not already have a copy of Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can download it for free.
Papyrus Additions
The Papyrus Additions folder must be placed in the same folder as the Papyrus application. It contains plug-in filters for use with certain imports. For example, importing from Medline, Silver Platter, EndNote, or BibTeX requires some of these plug-ins.

Spellcheckers
PAPYRUS can work with any Word Services compatible spellchecking application, such as the very inexpensive SpellswellTM from Working Software, or the free Excalibur (Verson 2.5.2 or newer).
Internet Config
Internet Config is free, public domain software (from some generous programmers). If you include a URL in a PAPYRUS reference, then PAPYRUS can use Internet Config to automatically launch your Web browser, ftp program, etc. to take you to that URL.
Mac OS 8.0 and newer already includes Internet Config.
Macintosh Drag & Drop
PAPYRUS makes extensive use of Macintosh Drag and Drop. If you are using System 7.1 Pro or System 7.5 or newer, then you already have this extension. If you are using an earlier version of the MacOS, then check in the Extensions folder of your System folder for an extension named "Macintosh Drag and Drop". If you don't find it on your computer, you can download a copy here. Once you've downloaded the extension, drop it onto your closed System folder and it should end up in the Extensions folder. You will then have to re-start your Macintosh to activate drag and drop functions. ("Macintosh Drag and Drop" is a product of Apple Computer, Inc.)
Obtaining StuffIt Expander
If your Web browser doesn't handle this automatically, you will need StuffIt Expander to decode the above ".hqx" files once you've downloaded them.
